HARPIA TECH took part in FILDA 2014 – International Fair of Luanda, from 22nd to 27th July - , where its Remotely Piloted Aircraft System, STORX, was publically presented. The International Fair of Luanda is considered the major multisectoral event of the Angolan market, representing one of the main vectors towards the fostering of economic and industrial development of the country. During the whole 6 days of trade show, HARPIA TECH’s booth received numerous visits from people and organizations eager to learn more about the operation mode of the UAV and its application sectors. Besides, HARPIA TECH had the privilege to receive the presence of both the Minister of Economy of the Republic of Angola, Dr. Abraham Gourgel and the National Director of Telecommunications of Angola, Eng. Eduardo Sebastian. In the final stretch, HARPIA TECH was nominated for the Golden Lions Gala - FILDA 2014, being awarded in the category of best participation in innovative products.

HARPIA TECH made the news in the Spring Edition of the magazine ‘Pasta e Papel’ with the publication of the article RPAS, a Technological Resource for Forestry, written in partnership with the University of Aveiro.

This magazine covers the pulp, paper and cork sector, being distributed in Portugal and throughout Brazil. The article breaks down operating earnings inherent to the broad development of technology of RPAS’ use in various applications, such as forestry, precision agriculture, particularly in vineyards, safety, targeted surveillance, as well as aerial news reports.

HARPIA TECH S.A. will be represented in AEROSPACEDAYS MEDITERRANEAN by André Costa, Marketing Manager, and by Nuno Gomes, Business Developer, with solutions in the area of RPAS / UAVs (Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems) to collect aerial imagery, remote monitoring and cargo transport.

Harpia Tech S.A. attended Expo Seguridad 2014, in Managua, Nicaragua. During the 4t, 5th and 6th March, Harpia Tech S.A. interacted with professionals and users of Central American private security industry.

The RPAS (UAVs) of the Portuguese brand Harpia Tech made the big news of this year’s edition. The Marketing Manager, André Costa, was the company's representative at this event, emphasizing the use of Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems in various applications, particularly in precision agriculture. Harpia Tech S.A. awoke the curiosity and confidence of many farmers in Central America interested in surveillance applications, yield mapping and detection of plagues to leverage their business.

Our system - STORK - will be officially presented next spring and it will already be operational by the summer, thus accomplishing the expected goals at the service of the common good and safety.

AFCEA Portugal - Associação para as Comunicações, Eletrónica, Informações e Sistemas de Informação para Profissionais -, is going to organize, on 15th October, at Air Force Academy, in Sintra, a Professional and Technical Meeting entirely dedicated to Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS). For that reason, AFCEA relies on the presence of its most recent member, Harpia Tech S.A., a company based in Aveiro, with a strong will, committed to anticipate the future of technology in favour of people’s wellbeing and safety. Harpia Tech S.A. is expert in Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems and has skills in mechanics, electronics, communications and command & control.

This meeting intends to create synergy among users, investors and industry members, as well as to debate the potential of RPAS concerning ISTAR operations and civil protection, in national territory.

The event has the invited speaker, Peter Van Blyenburgh, member of ICAO UAS Study Group, European Commission’s RPAS Steering Group, permanent advisor of EUROCAE WG93 on Light RPAS and president of UVS International. At the end, there will be flight demonstrations, where RPAS capacities developed by both Portuguese industries and investigation centres can be tested.

On 10th and 11th September, HARPIA TECH S.A. and EIXOMETRIA, two companies that work along in the same area, on behalf of both administrations, opened the doors with enthusiasm to their investors and employees, as well as other entities, such as Agência para o Investimento e Comércio Externo de Portugal, AICEP, for an official visit. The main purpose was but to present the companies and bring to light projects under development at the moment.

EIXOMETRIA, a mechatronics technology company, broke the ice with some greeting words pronounced by its Manager, Pedro Santos. General Director, Artur Leite, set forth the company’s skills and technical capabilities.

Major Jorge Tavares was able to give a warm welcome to entrepreneurs and other guests in HARPIA TECH, S.A., where a brief presentation of the Remotely Piloted Aircraft, RPA, under development was made by the R&DT Director, Eng. Pedro Alves da Costa.

At last, the visit ended with a pleasing get-together luncheon, gathering all stakeholders in O Solar das Estátuas restaurant.
